Sustainability model in VSPT
At VSPT Wine Group we understand sustainability to be a corporate value and a fundamental pillar for achieving our strategic objectives.
By putting our people at the centre, we focus on two key areas that will lead us toward sustainability, with concrete and measurable work agendas: Climate Change and Sustainable Progress. This is supported by a set of governance guidelines that allow us to align agendas and lead processes to achieve our commitments, in line with our values and business strategy.

VSPT promotes transparency by reporting its carbon footprint (scopes 1, 2, 3) under ISO 14064, SBTi, IWCA, and SASB, aligning with the Greenhouse Gas Protocol and international standards to quantify, report and verify emissions.

The committee, including all VSPT directors, meets quarterly to promote a culture of sustainability and plan and review progress with shared goals and projects.

VSPT ensures quality, safety and environmental care in all its processes. Certified in ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and more, the company stands out for its sustainable management in Chile and Argentina, with no environmental or consumption penalties in 2023.

In the area of sustainable progress, the strategy prioritizes five key agendas:
Sustainable Progress > Brand with Purpose
Since 2021, VSPT has focused on creating brand objectives that positively impact society. 60% of our portfolio now has defined objectives, including B-Liv, Gato Negro, Tarapacá and Misiones de Rengo.
Sustainable Progress > Conscious Consumption
VSPT promotes responsible alcohol consumption and recycling culture through “Smart Drinking”.The company has also partnered with ReSimple to recycle packaging and comply with the REP Law.
Sustainable Progress > Communities
Following a 2021 assessment, VSPT identified priority communities with which to engage in a transparent and collaborative manner, fostering development at Isla de Maipo, Molina, San Juan and Malleco.
Sustainable Progress > I+D and Innovation
Since 2018, innovation has been a core value for VSPT. Through collaboration in R&D and marketing, the company has developed innovative products and processes that add value and support future sustainability.
Sustainable Progress > Responsible Supply
VSPT fosters long-term relationships with suppliers, collaborating on sustainable practices in viticulture and eco-design to reduce economic, social and environmental impacts.
Climate Change
VSPT is facing climate change with a scientific roadmap, aiming to reduce its impact and align with the 1.5°C target. Committed to IWCA and Race to Zero, the company is targeting net-zero emissions by 2050, with a 40% reduction by 2030 (base year 2019).
Climate Change > Waste Management
In 2023, VSPT managed 98.8% of its industrial waste, applying a strategy to reduce, reuse and recycle. The company’s biogas and composting plants recover 100% of organic waste.
Climate Change > Ecodesign
In 2023, VSPT updated its Circular Economy and Eco-design Policy, focusing on glass weight reduction in line with the Bottle Weight Accord to emphasize circular packaging and waste.

Energy efficiency and renewable energy use are key to tackling climate change and fundamental to VSPT’s emission reduction strategy.
Climate Change > Water Management
VSPT recognizes water as a critical resource for winemaking. In 2023, the company began measuring its water footprint under ISO 14.046. With 60% of its vineyards in water-stressed areas, the company uses efficient irrigation technology.
Climate Change > Biodiversity Conservation
Since 2017, VSPT has worked on biodiversity conservation at Viña Tarapacá, protecting over 110 hectares (271 acres) of native vegetation. In 2023, the company signed an agreement with “1% for the Planet” to support conservation projects.
Climate Change > Sustainable Viticulture
VSPT promotes sustainable agriculture practices to protect soil health, biodiversity and water efficiency. The company has reduced pesticide use and aims for climate-resilient viticulture by 2030.

VSPT places people at the heart of its strategy through the “SER VSPT” program, which focuses on seven key areas to foster an inclusive and safe organizational culture that promotes development and well-being.

VSPT focuses on attracting and retaining talent by offering quality employment and professional development. In 2023, the company oversaw 193 recruitment processes and implemented succession plans to identify future leaders.

VSPT promotes professional development and well-being through programs including the “SER Leadership Program”, “Wine School” and “Vive SER”. In 2023, 4,083 training activities were conducted, covering 77% of the workforce, and 389 awards were given.

VSPT promotes an inclusive culture through the “SER Más” program, focusing on gender and multiculturalism, as well as multigenerational and disability inclusion. In 2023, the company launched the DEI Policy, conducted a diversity diagnosis and joined the Inclusive Companies Network.
Ser Culture > Working Relations
VSPT prioritizes employment rights, maintaining a collaborative union model based on trust and communication. In 2023, the unionization rate was 62.4%, with successful collective bargaining negotiations.

VSPT promotes responsible alcohol consumption through nine ways to drink responsibly. In 2023, focus groups were conducted in Chile and Argentina to understand perceptions and promote this culture in events and through actions.

VSPT prioritizes the health and safety of its employees with a preventive culture and goals aimed at zero accidents, diseases and fatalities. The company has implemented a certified ISO 45001 occupational health and safety management system.
